Minimum Wages Order 2020
IN exercise of the powers conferred by section 23 of the National Wages Consultative Council Act 2011 [Act 732], the Minister makes the following order:
1. Citation and commencement
(1) This order may be cited as the Minimum Wages Order 2020.
(2) This Order comes into operation on 1 February 2020.
2. Non-application
This Order shall not apply to a domestic servant as defined under subsection 2(1) of the Employment Act 1955 [Act 265], subsection 2(1) of the Sabah Labour Ordinance [Cap. 67] and subsection 2(1) of the Sarawak Labour Ordinance [Cap. 76].
3. Definition
In this Order, “place of employment” has the meaning assigned thereto by subsection 2(1) of the Employment Act 1955, subsection 2(1) of the Sabah Labour Ordinance and subsection 2(1) of the Sarawak Labour Ordinance.
4. Minimum wages rates in the City Council or Municipal Council areas
The minimum wages rates payable to an employee who works in a place of employment in any City Council or Municipal Council areas as specified in the Schedule shall be as follows:
5. Rate of wages for employee paid based only on piece rate, tonnage, etc. in the City Council or Municipal Council areas
In relation to an employee who works in a place of employment in any City Council or Municipal Council areas as specified in the Schedule and is not paid basic wages but is paid wages based only on piece rate, tonnage, task, trip or commission, the rate of monthly wages payable to the employee shall not be less than RM1,200.00.
6. Minimum wages rates in areas other than the City Council or Municipal Council areas
The minimum wages rates payable to an employee who works in a place of employment in any areas other than the City Council or Municipal Council areas as specified in the Schedule shall be as follows:

In relation to an employee who works in a place of employment in any areas other than the City Council or Municipal Council areas as specified in the Schedule and is not paid basic wages but is paid wages based only on piece rate, tonnage, task, trip or commission, the rate of monthly wages payable to the employee shall not be less than RM1,100.00.
8. Revocation
The Minimum Wages Order 2018 [P.U. (A) 265/2018] is revoked.
